Government of Indonesia

Regulation of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2014

In March 2014, the president of Indonesia released this decree on the protection and empowerment of women and children in social conflicts. It uses Indonesia’s ratification of the Convention to Eliminate All Forms of Violence Against Women (CEDAW) and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, as well as existing Indonesian law on social conflict management, as its legal basis. This decree provided the structural foundation for the Indonesian national action plan, which was launched later that year.
