Nairobi Symposium: Maximizing Impact of Women, Peace, and Security Policies in Africa

In July 2014, Inclusive Security—along with partners Cordaid and the University of Nairobi—held a three-day event in Nairobi, Kenya aimed at exploring the work underway on the African continent in the field of women, peace, and security. 121 government and civil society representatives from 15 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa came together and, through a series of plenary and small-group workshop sessions, shared best practices and lessons learned on effectively implementing, monitoring, and evaluating national action plans for UN Security Council Resolution 1325.
