Investing in women for peace and future generations: Timor-Leste Adopts a National Action Plan on Security Council Resolution 1325

UN Women Timor-Leste provided key technical assistance to the country's national action plan, which was approved by the Council of Ministers on April 26, 2016. It is the third Southeast Asian country with a national action plan, and it's emphasis on women's participation and leadership isn't surprising: according to the UN Women Deputy Country Representative in Timor-Leste, Sunita Caminha, Timor-Leste currently has the highest parliamentary representation of women in the Asia-Pacific region. This is UN Women's announcement of the plan's adoption.
